PATRIC Gives Three Workshops and Presentations in China Focused on Bacterial Antimicrobial Resistance
The PATRIC team gave a series of workshops in China focused on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) featuring new PATRIC tools and resources to aid in the identification and study of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. The workshops attracted well over a hundred researchers from top organizations and institutions in China. The first workshop was on June 25-26, 2015 at the Chinese Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention in Beijing. It included scientists, physicians, and officials from China CDC, Peking University People’s Hospital, NIAID Office in China, and the U.S. CDC – Beijing.
In Shanghai, the PATRIC team presented at the Institute of Antibiotics at Fudan University on June 29, 2015 and included participants from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Zhejiang University. On June 30, 2015, PATRIC led a seminar called, “Bacterial Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and Drug Development,” for faculty and students at the School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
